Amazon ad aur dikhao Vs Snapdeal ad dil ki deal

I don't think the topic of this post require any explanations. When these giants can afford to spend Rs 4 Lakhs for just 10 sec ad to be displayed during IPL breaks, one can be sure that they did a fair job in branding as well as making the audience well aware of their offerings. The competition between different e-commerce firms have become very stiff and each one of them trying hard to gain market share.

In this post I'll talk about two ads, 'aur dikhao' by Amazon and 'dil ki deal' by Snapdeal and their impact on Indian consumers.

Let's talk about Amazon first. The ad perfectly captures the tendency or habit of Indian consumer of exploring various options before making the final call. The ad displays various events in which people look for as many options before finalizing the one. But one problem with this ad is that,it has tried showing too many circumstances or situations in which people are just exploring their options, which made this ad bit confusing and repetitive for the viewers. But the ending has been made perfect by delivering the right message, which is to download the amazon app from Play Store.

Talking about Snapdeal ad, the ad tries to capture the mind and heart of viewers by getting the emotional connect through its music and its message(dil ki deal). Rather than featuring common people in its ad,it features Aamir Khan so as to build more trust among the audience. The ad tells viewers that it is a place where they can find anything they have been craving for, hence fulfilling their wishes, aspirations and dreams. Ad also tells that Snapdeal will help you in finding your best deal, deal better than those of its competitors. But the ad fails in showing how can a consumer achieve that deal. People in metros, tier 1 and tier 2 cities may be well informed about Snapdeal as a website or an app, but what about the people who have no knowledge about Snapdeal as an online platform? It would have been much better had they ended the ad by delivering some message about its app or website, which would have made the concept more clear to the audience.

Overall both these ads look to compete against eact other and the companies may declare some kind of "Maha Sale" very soon.Well this is just my prediction and I hope it becomes a fact !!!
